People argue that Kenya has no job and most people especially the youth are unemployed. Well, I can’t disagree with this argument since the old folks aren’t like retiring any time soon. What’s left for the youth? The old folks have introduced a way to ‘help’ us make money as well, GAMBLING!!! This gambling business is booming but right now it is kinda lower, I don’t know much about football but I can understand that right now there are no games- season has not yet began- something like that. So many fast making money platforms not forgetting the almost sinking ship-Public Likes.
Saturday night a nigger of mine, Willy or Kiwilly - most people prefer this name, was asking me about Public Likes. Mind you, he has heavily invested on this platform, he recently borrowed 4500/= KES to upgrade his account, after which he could earn 260/= KES per day for the next 60 days instead of the normal 60/= KES. He Apped me asking for the recent update from Public Likes, he is so worried about that he was telling me to use my phone since he didn’t trust his- he claims it may be faulty and hence possible connection failure😂😂. For real losing 4500/= in the current economic situation in Kenya is not a simple thing, it can even cause a heart attack , I pray for my buddy I am not ready to lose him to public likes.
I am helping in nature so I offered to check for him. The message on the web is so promising, they might come back. As I wrote the first two paragraphs I was ashamed of saying I own an account too but let me admit I have one , I however didn’t invest my little money there , the only thing am losing is time and bundles wasted on viewing the so called ads. On seeing the message online I promised to take him to hospital in case of a heart attack. I know to some of my readers 4500/= is not much but to us it is really 'big' money.
In the process, I didn’t know how I opened up on how I lost money sometimes back early this year. I had always kept this a secret to myself but I am now ready to tell the world.
If you are a Kenyan gambler, you are on Facebook or Whatsapp, you must have come across people who sell 450 sure odds.Just picture this- that’s big money in case of a win, if they do. My girl was recently complaining that I am not into football, gambling, clubbing she was like,” What are you really into?” She doesn’t know I was once a gambler who placed a bet on 450 odds- I couldn’t tell her she might think I am desperate for money to buy her a Kebab-she doesn’t eat chicken or French fries, I always tell myself😅😛😪. I know she will read this though😖. Back to my gambling story, I came across a post on Facebook TUK COMRADES FORUM about this gambler who sells sure odds and on my research on his profile I learnt he was really winning. As poor as I am I took his number and WhatsApp’d him.😉
It goes down in the DM anyway. This guy told me that he sells the 450 odds at 2000/= I had money that time,2500/= is a huge amount in my Mpesa Account. I negotiated on the price and he gave me a discount , he agreed to sell at 1500/= I did the Maths 450 odds multiplied by 500 that’s 225000/= ,If I won, she would never complain of us not visiting Java House or KFC regularly. I however asked to pay a half before and a half after (gambler’s language) I quickly sent my 750 shillings to a person whose Mpesa name was FREDRICK MWENDA –I still recall it(screw him). I took a screenshot as sign of proof that I paid and sent him the screenshot. On seeing my Mpesa balance he insisted I add 250 to make it 1000/= he accused of playing games on him- I ain’t even into real games, he didn’t know.
The thought of being scammed hit me and I was accepting it haha. After a short argument since I refused to add he agreed to send the games and I would add some cash after. I received my 450 odds. The thought of having all these money made me think of how I would be the next Sheriff in town. I placed a bet of 500. That’s roughly more than 220 thousands in return. Who makes such profits in return? Wallace. On placing the bet , I received the betting firm’s text on the POSSIBLE WIN , what else did I want?
After the games, I waited for congratulations text- am waiting till now. I logged in to my gambling account and the games weren’t even close to the predicted outcomes. I was scammed. I however didn’t give up I texted him that we’ve lost. He didn’t reply. The next day I texted him asking for the day’s games. BLUETICKED. I am still waiting for the two replies.
As I was narrating this story to Willy he was all laughing out loud saying he would disclose it to my circle. Well, I did before him.
I know this is embarrassing on how we want this fast money but…. I know I am stupid but let’s just keep it between us😉. I however lost less compared to Willy, now who’s more stupid than the other? Things we do for money.
